BG Americas & Global LNG has established itself as the leading player in the importation of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the United States and in 2006, was responsible for 50% of LNG imports. BG Americas & Global LNG has established this leading position through a combination of its capacity at the Lake Charles and Elba Island LNG receiving terminals, a portfolio of LNG supply contracts, its global gas marketing capability and its access to shipping. In 2006, purchase of power stations Dighton, Lake Road and Masspower has facilitated additional synergies to develop in a market that is mature and transparent with no dominant incumbents. BG Americas & Global LNG is in a strong position to build on both its supply and marketing positions in the United States through expansion of existing facilities and pursuing new projects.

BG Americas & Global LNG currently employs 340 employees with an average of 870 participants in our benefit plans. Also, we employ 36 US expats in over 13 countries, with an average of 118 participants in our global benefit plans. We have seen high growth - over 250% - in our headcount since year end 2006.
