The Section of Cardiology and Department of Pharmacology of the School of Medicine at UIC have multidisciplinary research strengths in vascular and lung biology, cell signaling, molecular pharmacology of G proteins, molecular and cellular basis of inflammation, clinical cardiology and stem cells. Investigators lead programs in both basic and translational research (including drug discovery) related to a number of pathologies. UIC has the state of the art facilities for research support and a stimulating environment to develop collaborative research programs.
