The Centre of Geophysics of Évora is hosted by the University of Évora. The research fields developed by the international team of the CGE are Seismology, Applied Geophysics, Geology, Atmospheric Physics and Satellite Remote Sensing, Climate Dynamics, Scenarios and Impacts of Climate Change. More than 20 post-graduate students and postdocs are heavily involved in the research developed by the center. The city, classified World Heritage by the UNESCO, hosts the largest university of the region Alentejo. It offers student lodging, extra-curricular activities (sports, music, etc) and entertainment. Thanks namely to several Erasmus programs, the student community is very diverse and pluricultural. Evora lies 120 km East of Lisbon (about 1h20 by bus), half way between the Atlantic coast and its beautiful beaches, and Spain.
