OUR STRATEGIC PLAN
The University of Sydney is a large and diverse institution, but one that has a strong shared identity and commitment to the power of ideas to transform our world. In August 2010, we launched a new strategic plan for the five years to 2015 that has at its heart our commitment to attracting and welcoming the brightest researchers and the most promising students, whatever their social or cultural background.

Sydney researchers pursue cutting-edge research, reaching across disciplinary barriers to find unique solutions to improve and transform our lives.

Latest available figures confirm the University of Sydney as Australia’s leading research university, generating a total of $353.5 million research income. In 2009, the Australian Research Council awarded ground-breaking Sydney researchers 50 fellowships, the highest number among Australian universities.
