Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute at Lake Nona (Orlando) is an independent, not-for-profit biomedical research institution dedicated to advancing the frontiers of scientific knowledge in life sciences and medicine with an emphasis on research on Diabetes and Obesity. Sanford-Burnham has recently finished building 175,000 sq.ft. state-of-the-art laboratory facilities for over 300 faculty and staff. The Lake Nona/Orlando site has several outstanding technology cores for modern molecular and metabolic research, with a strong interdisciplinary collaborative approach to scientific study.
