Within this setting, the Department of Health and Kinesiology is a dynamic and growing unit of over 50 faculty and staff serving nearly 1000 majors enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs in areas that include community health, exercise science, sports medicine/athletic training, sport psychology, nutrition and food science, health and physical education, coaching education, and physical activity and fitness. The Health and Physical Education major is housed in the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) accredited College of Education with the majority of the courses taught by faculty in the Department of Health and Kinesiology.
Position Description: Reporting to the Chair of the Department, the successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Physical Education within the Health and Physical Education program and supervise student teachers. Courses might include adapted physical education, motor development and motor control. In addition, the successful candidate will promote and sustain interdisciplinary dialogue, research and service, hold active membership in professional associations/organizations, and serve on committees and participate in official activities at the departmental, college, and university levels. The position is a 9-month tenure track appointment, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
