Responsible for pre-formulation and formulation of solid dose Phase 1 and Phase 2 dosage forms. Excellent company with solid financial picture.

Responsible to conduct preformulation and formulation studies in early development, design and develop dosage forms for clinical trials, and oversee scale-up and contract manufacture of clinical formulations for development compounds.

Key Responsibilities for this role include:
- Design and execute experimental programs to develop, optimize and scale-up clinical formulations
- Oversee scale-up and technology transfer to contract manufacturing sites
- Co-ordinate with other groups within the company to ensure timely availability of Clinical Trial Materials
- Represent the group and provide technical expertise in cross-functional project teams
- Providing technical guidance to group members on projects

Basic Qualifications
- A PhD in Pharmaceutics, Chemical Engineering or related fields
- 5+ years experience in the pharmaceutical industry working with small molecule new chemical entities (NCEs)
- Expertise in process scale-up and optimization from laboratory scale to pilot scale.
- Experience applying statistical approaches in the design and analysis of experiments to solving complex problems.
- Experience with a wide range of formulations, in-depth familiarity with oral solid dosage forms is a plus
- Extensive understanding of other disciplines related to Pharmaceutical Development
- Thorough understanding and training in GMPs and regulatory requirements, experience with INDs is a plus
- Productive working practices generate consistent high quality data
- Keeps abreast of and implements state of the art pharmaceutical methodology and technology
- Experience with management of outsourced projects at contract manufacturers
- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams under defined timelines
- Skilled at presenting data and strategy in scientific settings and team meetings
- Capable of motivating others and providing input for self-development
- Excellent leadership, communication, teamwork and organizational skills
