Microfluidic and Nanomechanic Analytical Biosystems (μNAB)

The recently-approved Microfluidic and Nanomechanic Analytical Biosystems (μNAB) Interdisciplinary Research Group (IRG) of the MIT SMART center (http://web.mit.edu/SMART/) is seeking postdoctoral researchers in the area of micro/nanofluidics engineering. The successful candidate should hold a Ph.D. degree in the area of bioengineering, biophysics, or related engineering / science departments from a reputable university, and will become a part of the interdisciplinary team of SMART researchers and will carry out cutting-edge research toward developing advanced, integrated microfluidic / nanofluidic systems for cellular / molecular assay for various diseases and/or biological studies. The theme of the research will be targeted toward utilizing biomechanical cues at both the molecular and cellular scales, in order to develop specific, high-throughput assays.

This position will  primarily be based in Singapore, with the possibility of traveling to MIT (up to a few months) as part of the international collaboration. Competitive compensation and support for travel will be provided. Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) Centre is a major new research enterprise in Singapore established by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the National Research Foundation (NRF) of Singapore. SMART, MIT's first such research unit outside of Cambridge, MA, will serve as an intellectual hub, allowing faculty, researchers and graduate students from MIT to collaborate with their academic and industrial counterparts from Singapore and the region in exciting new areas of science and technology.
