Dr. Zhaoran (Rena) Huang’s Laboratory invites highly motivated individuals to apply for a postdoctoral research associate position. The candidate shall have his/her Ph.D. in one of the following fields: Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics or Physics. A strong record of publication and independent research experience are required. Excellent communication skills are essential. The candidate shall have has experience in optical waveguide testing, and be familiar with theoretical simulation tools such as BPM, FDTD, FEM, etc. The candidate, if selected, will participate in the research of guided wave devices on Si and wide band gap semiconductor materials, electro-optical modulator, optical sensors (biological, chemical, pressure, and gas sensors), on-chip integrated spectrometer, Bragg waveguides, and slot waveguides. The candidate is also responsible for managing the lab and helping graduate students in various research projects. The position is available for multiple years, but renewed on a yearly basis.
