Quick Leonard Kieffer has been retained to search for the Associate Vice President for Research & Innovation for the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida.

The University of South Florida (http://www.usf.edu) is a multi-campus, national research university. It is one of three Florida public universities classified by the Carnegie Foundation in the top tier of research; in fiscal year 2007-2008, there were 2,726 active sponsored projects and USF generated $335+M in sponsored research.

Reporting to the Vice President for Research & Innovation, the AVP will assist with the administration of all units within the Office of Research & Innovation, which include Sponsored Research, Patents & Licensing, Comparative Medicine, Research Integrity & Compliance, and the USF Research Foundation, Inc. He or she will work closely with faculty and executive staff in establishing and maintaining external and internal professional research networks to identify and optimize research opportunities and investments that build on existing collaborative relationships and expand opportunities for interdisciplinary research. The new AVP must also enable the achievement of USF research outcomes and utilize analytical skills to provide information on the external and internal research environment, in order to drive planning and reporting functions.
