The Sr. Medical Director is responsible for the review and development of all scientific content within a discipline and across multiple therapeutic areas. The Medical Director works independently, has greater than 7 years of experience in medical education or relevant experience and is fully responsible for all programs and Assistant/Associate Medical Directors and Directors within their discipline. The Sr. Medical Director is a highly visible individual engaging in frequent interaction with clients and internal staff. Primary responsibilities include review of scientific content for enduring materials, development of publication strategies, positioning of key data, communication with program directors, clients, key opinion leaders and faculty and leadership in business development. Some travel is required.  Phd, MD, PharmD required.

NYC: Group Medical Director

Advanced degree in life sciences, PhD, PharmD, or MD (or equivalent)
Minimum 5 years medical education experience or 7 years combined clinical and medical education experience
Significant involvement (from conception through implementation), in a broad spectrum of medical education programs (both promotional and CME)
Promotional medical education: advisory boards, KOL advocacy development, KOL influence mapping, speaker training, publication planning, field force medical education, etc.
CME: congress and symposia programming, curriculum development meetings, interactive CME, spin-off materials, CME supplements, grand rounds, CME speakers' bureaus, etc.
Extensive writing and content development experience
Significant management experience managing a medical affairs department
Significant experience with direct reports
Significant experience with medical affairs operations
Significant experience in areas that complement the existing business units (e.g. primary publication planning, secondary publication planning, managed care consulting, strategic consulting, KOL influence mapping, health care consulting, public health/governmental lobbying)

 

NJ Jobs: Medical Writer/Director

Position Objective

  • Write high-quality scientific manuscripts, slide presentations, posters, and other educational materials for a medical education/communications company

 Key Responsibilities

  • High-quality scientific writing
  • Develop a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of client medical and marketing personnel

 Knowledge and Skills

  • Doctoral level education in biomedical sciences preferably (PhD, PharmD, MD) with oncology experience
  • One or more years of med ed, agency, or pharma experience
  • Familiarity or interest in pharmaceutical marketing
  • Knowledge of assigned therapeutic areas
  • Experience writing peer-reviewed articles, distilling complex technical information for a variety of medical audiences
  • Familiarity with RefMan or similar database program, Word, PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with AMA style writing
  • Ability to write high-quality scientific articles
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work as a team member

 Problem Solving

  • Balancing work quality with timelines
  • Adopting the writing style to the target audience

 Managerial Direction

  • Make decisions regarding content and style in consultation with program management and account management
  • Self management to adhere to agreed T&E schedules, budgets, and to alert team to potential deviations and overages

Temp to Perm Medical Writer/Director in Bridgewater, NJ 

This Company located in New Jersey is a strategic medical communications agency.  They partner with clients in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries to educate the global health care community and enable them to make well informed decisions regarding treatment options.

 2-3 years pharmaceutical or medical education writing experience; medical publishing experience a plus

 Management & client services experience

 Knowledge of AMA & FDA guidelines

Therapeutic experience: Immunology

PhD, MD, PharmD 

Office-based position with some flexibility (must be able to drive to the office when needed)

(at least 3 days a week in house)

$60 - 65 per hr contract position and if the job goes permanent, the salary will be 120k
