Reporting to the Director of Academic Development, UCN requires a Learning Technologies Specialist to support the academic operations of UCN's learning technologies initiatives. The individual will provide expertise, training and ongoing support to faculty and staff in learning theories, instructional design, implementation strategies and applications of current technology in the design of instruction, particularly for distance education. The individual will work closely with Learning Technologies Facilitators to create an effective team.

The individual will also work closely with deans, faculty and all stakeholders to ensure that programs and curricula are culturally relevant. The individual will monitor emerging technologies to determine their instructional value and possible use. The individual will create, maintain and distribute a public catalogue of distance education courses, and maintain an internal database regarding the use of learning technologies within UCN courses. Other important functions of the position are to develop and conduct faculty workshops and resource materials on relevant distance education and learning technologies topics, and to develop and deliver on-line and face-to-face orientation sessions and materials for learners. The individual will produce professional, quality documents, reports, workshops and other necessary materials as required.
