Description:

The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), Laboratory of Brain and Cognition, Unit on Learning and Plasticity (http://lbc.nimh.nih.gov/) is seeking a postdoctoral fellow. Research in the lab focuses on studying learning, plasticity, and visual cognition primarily with fMRI. Current interests include investigating how the visual representation of objects changes with experience and how cortical visual processing is affected by loss of peripheral input (e.g., in individuals with macular degeneration). The position is available December 2008.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree and a maximum of five years of experience. A strong background in neuroscience, psychology, cognitive science, or related disciplines is required. Previous experience with fMRI, statistical methods, and/or programming is helpful, but not essential.
