Set on a beautiful 300-acre campus north of Wilmington, Delaware, the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children has 180 inpatient beds and offers all the major specialties of pediatric medicine, surgery and dentistry. The duPont Hospital is operated by Nemours, which provides institutions and services to improve the health of children. Employing over 400 pediatric physicians, subspecialists and surgeons, Nemours cared for approximately a quarter of a million children during nearly one million encounters in 2005, making Nemours one of the nation's largest children's health systems.

In addition to the hospital, Nemours operates the Nemours Children's Clinic-Delaware Valley, which provides pediatric primary and specialty care at locations throughout Delaware, southeastern Pennsylvania, and southern New Jersey, and Nemours Children's Clinics-Florida, which provide pediatric subspecialty care in Jacksonville, Orlando and Pensacola.

The Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE is seeking a Research Post Doctorate Fellow to work full time in the Human Genetics Research Laboratory, within the Department of Biomedical Research. The ideal candidate will have recently graduated with a PhD in the life sciences, chemistry or genetics and have interest in developing a career in human genetic research. The Post Doctorate fellow performs a primary research role in the Human Genetics Research Laboratory and conducts original research for both internally and externally funded projects of interest to the laboratory. The Post Doctorate Fellow performs a range of experiments and data analysis under the direction of Lab Head or Research Associate, assists with the maintenance and operations in the laboratory, participates in the preparation of grant proposals and manuscripts and maintains both handwritten and computerized records of work performed. Post Graduate Degree with six month to one year of experience.
