The College of Business Administration invites nominations and applications for the position of Director of the MBA Program and NTT Lecturer. Georgia Southern University, an institution of the University System of Georgia, and a Carnegie Doctoral/Research University, is the largest and most comprehensive center of higher education in the southern half of Georgia. A residential university serving 16,841 students in fall 2007, Georgia Southern's hallmark is a superior educational experience emphasizing academic distinction, excellent teaching, and student success. Founded in 1906, the University offers 118 degree programs at the baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral levels through eight colleges. The 675-acre campus is located in Statesboro, a Main Street community of approximately 30,000 residents, 50 miles northwest of historic Savannah, and 200 miles southeast of Atlanta.

Position Description. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Faculty and Curriculum, the Director of the MBA Program and NTT Lecturer provides administrative leadership and direction for the MBA program. Responsibilities include overseeing the daily operations of the program; serving as the principal and external spokesperson for the MBA program; coordinating with the individual responsible for recruiting students; maintaining corporate relations and graduate student alumni relations; increasing enrollment in the MBA program while safeguarding quality standards; travelling on occasion; teaching undergraduate courses occasionally; and working with the department chairs and directors to assure effective staffing of MBA courses.

The position is a 12-month appointment, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Earned master's degree in a College of Business discipline by July 1, 2009;
  • Minimum two years of corporate management experience;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Effective organizational skills;
  • Ability to work effectively with students and colleagues;
  • Demonstrated commitment to graduate business education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Earned master's degree from an AACSB accredited business school in a College of Business discipline.
