Description:

POSITION: Assistant/Associate Professor (Sport Management).  This is a nine-month tenure track position in the Department of Exercise, Sport, and Leisure Studies.

PROGRAM: Students in the Sport Management program at the University of Tennessee are offered the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for a career in the sports industry. Undergraduate students earn a major in Sport Management with a minor in Business. A concentration in Sport Management is available at the master's level.  A dual MS/MBA degree is offered in conjunction with the College of Business Administration.
 A doctoral specialization in Sport Management is also available.

The Sport Management program is housed in the Department of Exercise, Sport, and Leisure Studies within the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences. The department offers degree programs in Exercise Science, Sport Studies, Recreation Management, and Therapeutic Recreation in addition to Sport Management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- An earned doctorate or appropriate terminal degree in sport management or related field
- Evidence of scholarly achievements/potential in area of expertise
- Ability to advise graduate students

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- University/college teaching experience.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach in the areas of Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior
- Conduct quality research that merits publication in scholarly, refereed journals
- Participate in professional, university, and community service
- Seek external funding

SALARY: Competitive - commensurate with experience. Possible opportunity to teach additional courses during summer.
