Description:

The Laboratory of Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering in the Technical University of Crete, Chania, Greece is seeking two applicants to conduct postdoctoral research firstly on satellite altimetry, and secondly on statistical process control and abrupt change detection for geodetic data. The postdoctoral research position may last up to 3 years.

1. First Post-Doc position: Research tasks include the development and implementation of geodetic methods for the determination of absolute values for the biases of satellite radar altimeters, use of transponders for satellite calibration and validation, development of  methodologies to use near-shore altimetric data,  shallow water altimetry, and retracking, Global Positioning System data processing, etc.

2. Second Post-Doc position:Research tasks include the development of abrupt change detection procedures for geodetic data, development and testing of quality control algorithms for GPS/GNSS satellite measurements and results, Atmospheric parameter estimation and analysis using GPS observations, development of robust Kalman Filters, Statistical Process Control, Data quality control and Analysis, etc. We seek post-doctoral researchers who will develop innovative models and algorithms for describing and controlling the quality of Global Navigation Satellite System observations and results using cutting-edge filtering techniques (such as advanced statistical procedures, Robust Kalman filtering, statistical process control, abrupt change detection, etc.)
