DESCRIPTION: Full time tenure-track. We are seeking individuals who are committed to contributing to RIT's core values, honor code, and statement of diversity.
QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED: Applicants must have a strong interest in software engineering research, professional education, curriculum development, and a deep interest to teach software engineering courses and lead software development projects at the undergraduate, masters and Ph.D. levels. A Ph.D. in a related computing discipline is required.
PREFERRED: Industrial experience is highly desirable.
THE COLLEGE: The Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences is home to the Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, and Networking, Security, and Systems Administration departments, as well as the PhD in Computing and Information Sciences, the research arm of the college.
The Software Engineering department has 10 faculty, over 300 undergraduates, and a new MS program The department has state-of-the-art facilities that include 2 studio labs, 11 student meeting rooms, an embedded systems lab, a senior projects lab, and 2 general user labs, in addition to numerous other specialty labs scattered throughout the college.
RIT attracts students from all 50 states and more than 90 countries. RIT has been recognized on The Chronicle of Higher Education's inaugural "Great Colleges to Work For" list. RIT was cited in six different categories: Professional/Career Development Program, Compensation and Benefits, Tuition Reimbursement, 403b or 401k (retirement plan), Disability Insurance and Life Insurance.
The Rochester area has a diverse population which includes African Americans (38% of the city and 14% of Monroe County) and Latin Americans (13% of the city and 5% of the county).
