A postdoctoral fellowship is available in the Laboratory of Molecular Microbiology of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) within the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to study simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV)-infection of nonhuman primates as a model for AIDS vaccine development and pathogenesis. The focus of this position will be pathogenesis studies in either the the disease resistant natural host of SIV, African green monkeys or pathogenic models of SIV in macaques. Suitable applicants should be highly motivated and have recently obtained a Ph.D. and/or M.D./D.V.M. degree with a strong background in molecular virology, immunology, and/or pathology.
