The Principal Consultant is responsible for business development, and execution of the project in accordance with the proposal to reach the appropriate deliverables. We are searching for individuals with extensive subject matter expertise and extensive business development experience in the following areas:
Supply Chain / Operational Excellence Regulatory Compliance and QA Human Capital and Leadership Development Project Management / Manufacturing
Responsibilities Business Development Identify and develop leads for the consulting services/products currently available; collaborate with appropriate colleagues to develop and execute a sales strategy for qualified leads; respond to business opportunities; create and submit effective formal proposals at the request of client; develop or direct the creation of formal presentations to client; develop and implement appropriate strategies to close sales opportunities Managerial Provide and maintain regular leadership and direction to the consulting staff members working at the client account; maintain and disseminate all general information relating to clients; ensure that project staff is aware of general business state of the account and any opportunities for further business development; ensure that the project process follows Tunnell Consulting standards; work closely with Account Principals providing feedback on project performance Client Relations Initiate project status reports to client management ensuring project work meets proposal commitments and requirements; ensure all senior project staff is known to senior client decision-makers; responsible for managing the process of client-related marketing expenses Project Related Work with appropriate Account Principals to determine and approve the selection of project staff. This may include finalizing and approving subcontractor arrangements, ensuring agreement is signed and project letter sent to the subcontractor; maintain awareness of key project issues and strategies and attend key project meetings, as appropriate; review and approve Final Reports, both draft and final, including those which represent the end of a budgeted project phase utilizing subject matter expertise, as appropriate; report any quality or customer relations issues to the Practice Area Director that may threaten the client's complete satisfaction or continuation of the project; conduct appropriate "Lessons Learned" and client survey activities at the end of major projects Competencies Technical Demonstrates strong project management skills; demonstrates a solid business understanding and the ability to capitalize on opportunities; recognized as an expert in, at least, one technical or business process area; demonstrated ability to sell consulting services Leadership Skills Demonstrates the ability to lead, motivate, and coach others Problem Solving Able to recognize client opportunities and develop leads and book; able to resolve project issues not impacting P&L; in collaboration with SOU Head, able to resolve project issues related to P&L Interpersonal Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a variety of individuals at all levels of an organization; expert at developing and building business relationships; demonstrates strong influence management and negotiation skills Communication Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to deliver effective presentations to clients Teamwork Demonstrates a sense of team; able to work well independently or contribute as a team member
