Candidates are expected to have a record of demonstrated ability in leadership and administration, external funding, distinguished teaching and research, and should be eligible for a faculty position at the associate professor or full professor level. Area of specialization is open. The successful candidate will provide academic leadership for the department and will be responsible for the relationship between the Department and the University Administration and academic community. In addition, the successful candidate must be assertive and be able to promote the interests of a smaller academic program. Required: A Ph.D. in physics with area of specialization open for consideration. Preferred: The successful candidate must be able to teach at all levels, including courses for non-science majors, science majors, and physics majors.
