Barclays Global Investors in Tokyo is seeking professionals with the below experience or qualifications to work together with us on innovative solutions.

• Ph.D. or Masters in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or another quantitative discipline.
• Experience in quantitative modeling techniques.
• Working experience in a solutions oriented business would be a plus
• Strong quantitative finance background, including familiarity with portfolio construction methodology as well as forecasting and statistical analysis methodology.
• Basic programming skills as well as familiarity with statistical analysis software (i.e. SAS, Matlab, Splus).
• Familiarity financial databases and tools such as Datastream, CRSP, Bloomberg, MSCI/BARRA, etc.
• Experience with the handling and analysis of large data sets.
• Familiarity with the theory of financial markets and investor behavior.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Candidates must have proficiency in either Japanese or English, and preference is given to those who can speak both languages.
