The successful candidate for this position will work in areas of superconducting RF physics and engineering for the next generation light sources including energy recovery linacs and x-ray free electron lasers. This work will include design, development, systems integration, test and characterization of CW superconducting RF accelerating cavities, power couplers, higher order modes dampers and highly efficient cryomodules. In addition, this work includes design and implementation of experimental apparatus and auxiliary systems to perform measurements and associated data analysis and interpretation of processes of interest in current and future CW superconducting RF linac designs. A major portion of this work will be conducted in Japan at the KEK Facility.
