POSITION: Optimization Specialist. Location: Niagara Falls, ON



DESCRIPTION:

As a member of the development team, you will be responsible for the analysis, development and integration of new optimization functionalities in our software applications which make up Synexus' Vista decision support system (DSS). You will also ensure the maintenance of existing modules, supporting our clients directly as required. You may be required to travel periodically to our client sites , anywhere in the world.




REQUIREMENTS:

* Masters or PhD degree in Engineering,
* 3 - 10 years expertise in large-scale optimization problems involving linear programming (LP), dynamic programming (DP) and mixed integer programming (MIP).
* Experienced developer (5 -10 years) on Windows with Visual C++.
* Strong in developing highly efficient, highly robust and bug free code.
* Good working knowledge of SQL language and relational databases
* Experience in water resources or hydraulic engineering preferred
* Solid analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Ability to work under pressure in a team environment
* Aptitude for technical writing
* Excellent English language presentation capabilities - both written and verbal.
* Fluency in a second language desirable (Chinese, Spanish, Russian)
* Customer focused attitude
