A postdoctoral position in cancer biology is available in the laboratory of Zhe Li, PhD, Genetics Division, Brigham & Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School. The position is funded for at least three years starting from February 2009. The research project will be devoted to the analysis of breast cancer stem cells and their cellular origin in mouse models [Cancer Cell 12(6):542-58]. Our laboratory is broadly interested in exploring molecular mechanisms of human tumorigenesis using mouse models, including breast cancer, prostate cancer, and leukemia. We are particularly interested in understanding ontogeny of cancer stem cells. Applicants are expected to have completed their PhD and/or MD degree and be highly motivated for a career in academic biomedical research. Previous experience with laboratory mice, or cell sorting, or mammary gland biology is a plus.
