Job Purpose 

Demonstrated expertise in a variety of engineering concepts and practices including optics, electro-optics, sensor system integration and extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.

Job Duties

Develops ideas and plans for new research, technology development and services, oversees improvement and enhancement programs for existing projects, and is the business development lead for same. Provides broad technical input to program managers on a variety of engineering programs. Provides support and mentoring for the Engineering and Science staff and collaborates with other departments as required.  Collaborates with other senior management for both short and long term strategic planning.

Education

PhD in electrical engineering or physics is required.

Experience

12 years leading and directing skiled engineering and science staff, 10 years program/project management and strong customer relationship experience, 5-7 years of R&D experience in Engineering and Science environments.

Requirements

A strategic thinker with strong management and business practices. Demonstrated success in business development in R&D engineering/electronics systems in the Aerospace, Defense or Government R&D sectors. US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Government Security Clearance.  Active clearance preferred.
