Description:

The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), Section on Bipolar Spectrum Disorders, Emotion and Development Branch, Mood and Anxiety Disorders Program seeks a postdoctoral Research Fellow (PhD), or a Clinical Fellow (MD). This clinical research program is focused on the pathophysiology, phenomenology, genetics, and treatment of bipolar disorder and of severe irritability in children and adolescents. Other research interests include the development of neural circuitry mediating emotion.

The position provides excellent mentoring and comprehensive training in clinical psychiatric research, including neuroimaging (predominately fMRI), family/genetic studies, longitudinal descriptive studies, experimental psychology, and clinical trials. The research fellowship is 2-5 years in duration, and located at the NIMH Intramural Research Program in Bethesda, MD, USA. The position is available July 2009. Salary will be commensurate with NIH guidelines and experience. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. This position is subject to a background investigation.
