Job Title: Postdoctoral fellowship in toxicogenomics, molecular toxicology, and systems biology
Description:

A funded post-doctoral fellowship is available in the near term at the US Army Center for Environmental Health Research (USACEHR) in the Biomarkers Program. The Biomarkers Program develops methods for the rapid identification and validation of biomolecular markers (biomarkers) of exposure and effect for a broad spectrum of militarily relevant toxic industrial chemicals and materials. It is expected that these biomarkers will ultimately be useful as tools for clinical health risk assessment. The Biomarkers Program utilizes functional genomic and proteomic analyses as part of a systems biology approach to elucidate pathways of toxicity for risk assessment and to identify candidate biomarkers based on toxicological responses in cultured cell lines and in both mammalian and non-mammalian model animals.

The present appointment focuses on functional genomics, bioinformatics, computational approaches to data mining, and statistical analysis of high dimensional data. Experience with, or a strong interest in learning, these approaches is necessary. The initial appointment is for one year and may be renewed for up to four additional years based upon recommendation of USACEHR and subject to availability of funds. The appointment is at USACEHR.

Stipend and benefits are negotiable. The appointment is conditional on passing a National Agency Check.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

**APPLICANTS MUST BE US CITIZENS**

Applicants should have received a Doctoral degree in Toxicology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Bioinformatics or a related discipline within three years of the desired starting date, or completion of all requirements for the degree should be expected on or about the starting date. Other applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The program is open to all qualified US citizens without regard to race, sex, religion, color, age, physical or mental disability, national origin, or status as a Vietnam era or disabled veteran.
