As an ongoing effort to recruit talented PhD students, the Department of Building and Real Estate of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University would like to invite interested candidates to apply/enquire.
 
Candidates who would like to conduct research in the broad area of "knowledge management" in architecture, construction or project-based settings are encouraged to apply. Successful candidate(s) will have full exposure to activities conducted by the Knowledge Management Research Centre of the University http://kmrc.ise.polyu.edu.hk/web/guest/home.
 
Some possible suggested topics include:
 

• Designing spaces where employees can learn
• Learning from failures / errors / mistakes
• Gossip and information flow in networks
• Social networking / social network analysis
• Developing experience / expertise in professionals
• Creating knowledge in construction or project teams
• Creating knowledge workplaces
• Knowledge management in professional services firms
• etc.

Duration: 3 years
 
Start Date: when quota is available
 
Requirements: Good honours degree and master's degree (research-based or with substantial research element) in any discipline. Prior study or experience + genuine interest in Knowledge Management essential. Good communications and writing skills.
