Job Title: Senior Drug Discovery Biologist
Description:

Well funded biotechnology startup is looking to hire a molecular biologist or biochemist to support their drug discovery and compound optimization lab focused on small molecular drugs for metabolic disorders, such as type-2 diabetes. The candidate will be expected to perform bench science, including compound analysis, experimental design design and executing data generating molecular techniques, as well as provide leadership in drug discovery strategy and managing research technicians.

Top candidates will come from a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology or a related field and have 2+ years of industry experience in drug discovery at a major pharmaceutical or biotech company, in addition to any prior post-doctoral or academic research experience. Candidates should be well acclimated with drug discovery of small molecule therapeutics and cellular pathways (such as the JNK or MAPK pathways). Experience with lab techniques, such as high throughput screening (HTS), PCR, microarrays, mammalian models and automated instrumentation is a plus. Compensation is top of the market and relocation will be provided to the right candidate.
