This two year postdoctoral (for Ph.D.s) or 1-2 year postgraduate (for candidates with M.D. or J.D.) fellowship begins September 2010. Fellows will conduct mentored theoretical and empirical research in the ethics of health policy, international research ethics, and human subject research. For a typical fellow, this research yields multiple publications in premier academic journals. Fellows will also participate in ethics consultations, review of research protocols, bioethics seminars, and many other educational opportunities available at the NIH. No teaching is required, but teaching in a Department of Philosophy can be arranged. AOS or AOC: ethics or political philosophy. No bioethics experience is expected or required. Stipend is based on prior experience and current U.S. Government schedule, approximately $50,000 without prior postdoctoral experience (set by federal guidelines). EO/AAE.
