A postdoctoral position is now open at the Department of Pharmacology and Section of Cardiology of the School of Medicine of the University of Illinois at Chicago. The candidate must possess a PhD, MD title or equivalent and be proficient in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and/or Cell Biology. Previous experience with cell cultures, animal models and cardiovascular biology are desirable. This American Heart Association funded position allows for up to 3 years postdoctoral support with potential renewal thereafter. The candidate must be motivated, independent and present good communication skills (both written and oral). Salary is negotiable and dependent on experience. The Section of Cardiology and Department of Pharmacology of the School of Medicine at UIC have multidisciplinary research strengths in vascular and lung biology, cell signaling, molecular pharmacology of G proteins, molecular and cellular basis of inflammation, clinical cardiology and stem cells. Investigators lead programs in both basic and translational research (including drug discovery) related to a number of pathologies.
