Serving as the chief technical leader for systems biology, the incumbent will directly contribute to the research and development of a paradigm shifting Drug Discovery platform. This is a highly entrepreneurial role for an established scientific leader - the incumbent will determine the prioritization of therapeutic focus areas and assign resources accordingly within the business venture while coordinating pharmacological compound profiling and collaborating with the bioinformatics leadership team to integrate, experimentally, with bioinformatics tools for efficient analysis. 

In this role you will have the opportunity to: 
 • Discover new activities for advanced compounds which position new indications and research programs for potential therapeutic opportunities in disease. 
 • Lead, establish, and validate an entirely new pharmacodynamic profiling platform for characterizing compounds for systems, efficacy, and liability. 
 • Provide management and scientific direction to successfully established preclinical in vivo models with alignment to clinical studies. 

Candidates must be open to relocation to New York State for a 12-24 month period during the product research and development phase (at corporate HQ) and then be available to move to one of the company's divisions near a major life-sciences industry hub thereafter. 

Qualifications (please, qualified applicants only): 
 - Ph. D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology or related, with a proven track record of research accomplishments in the field of signal transduction and linkages to systems biology. 
 - Proven experience leading, establishing, and validating pharmacodynamic profiling platforms for characterizing compounds. Particular expertise in Oncology, Neurology, Immunology, or a related therapeutic area is a major plus. 
 - Experience leading a team of 5+ Ph.D/MS level scientists - Strong familiarity with state-of-the art bioinformatics; ideally someone who regularly partners with bioinformatics experts/leadership in the conduct of research.
