The Chemical Sciences and Engineering Division of Argonne National Laboratory has a postdoctoral position open in the Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics Group to study laser-controlled motions with ultrafast x-ray techniques. Experiments will be conducted both at the LCLS, the world’s first x-ray free electron laser, and at the Advanced Photon Source. Considerable knowledge of and skill in the use of lasers and molecular beams for advanced experiments in the physical sciences are essential. Knowledge of x-ray interactions with matter is preferred. Experience with synchrotron x-ray and/or free electron laser measurements would be an asset. Considerable skill in understanding physical concepts and independently obtaining results would also be desirable. Considerable skill in written and oral communication is a requirement.
