| Description: |
The Chemical Sciences and Engineering Division has post-doctoral positions available to work on an interdisciplinary DOE-sponsored research programs investigating fundamental mechanisms for solar energy conversion in biomimetic hybrid architectures designed for solar-driven fuels production. The research program targets the synthesis and characterization of biomimetic hybrid architectures for solar energy conversion by exploiting biology as a source of unique functional building-blocks for supramolecular synthesis, and developing complementary methods to augment these frameworks with abiotic cofactors to achieve molecular hybrids with novel photo-catalytic functionalities. Applicants are sought with a recent Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry, or related discipline, with relevant experience among the areas of recombinant protein expression, protein biochemistry and modification, time-resolved optical spectroscopy, or organic/inorganic synthesis.
