BIOCHEMICAL PRODUCT MANAGER – Solon, Ohio

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the development and growth of marketing and sales support activities for the Biochemical product lines. Primary responsibility is to drive sales revenue through management of complete product life cycle using appropriate marketing channels.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
•Formulate marketing and sales plan to improve market share and achieve a minimum sales growth of 45% p.a. in the existing Biochemical product lines.
•Define the market opportunities in complementary Biochemical products/cross-selling opportunities with other MP Bio product lines, and formulate strategies to effectively compete in a worldwide market and establishes a supply positions n additional products.
•Coordinates pricing strategies with operations staff throughout the world in order to meet the corporate goals.
•Identifies new products opportunities and new sources of present product offerings, and work closely with R&D/product development group.
•Coordinates marketing activities for a new products launch.
•Develops and maintains sales reporting systems by product group and products.
•Analyzes market developments, competitor activities and research trends.
•Identifies key accounts and opinion leaders.
•Provide guidance to marketing communications group on mailing lists, media selections and other A&P activities.
•Creates variety of content for promotional materials in Biochemical, i.e. develops product literature, catalogs, technical literature and sales aids.
•Provide guidance and content for IT group for managing Biochemical Internet presence.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILL/ABILITIES:
•Education: B.S. in a Life Science discipline is required, Master’s degree in science or an MBA + a bachelor’s degree in a life sciences discipline (i.e., biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology or physiology) strongly preferred, or PHd
•5+ years experience in marketing, tactical marketing, sales, technical support or some combination thereof.
•Exceptional marketing and technical knowledge, as well as stellar, verifiable record of success in product management in the areas of Biochemicals.
•Industrial Experience in product management/ marketing management of Biochemical products.
•Resourceful, leadership, and growth oriented individual.
•Demonstrated successful support of field activities such as trade shows, seminars, travel with sales force.
