The Molecular Cardiology Research Institute, Tufts Medical Center, Boston, invites applications for one post-doctoral research associate position, to study gene regulation associated with the cardioprotective effects of estrogen. The lower incidence of heart disease in pre-menopausal women is connected to the gene regulatory effects of estrogen receptors. Recent studies at the MCRI have identified genes that are temporally and differentially regulated by estrogen in vascular cells. We are seeking a post-doctoral associate to take a major role in developing a new, collaborative project aimed at uncovering the mechanisms of this regulation. Highly motivated candidates with an enthusiastic interest in this question are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate should ideally have experience with standard molecular biology and biochemistry techniques, qRT-PCR, chromatin immunoprecipitation and either microarray analysis or ChIP-seq, and a familiarity with the field of transcriptional regulation in chromatin.
