We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to purse investigations into the development and use of a novel brain stimulation technology, which employs pulsed ultrasound. We have recently demonstrated that low-intensity pulsed ultrasound is capable of remotely and noninvasively stimulating intact brain circuits. We are now in the process of expanding these investigations across many levels, which range from an examination of the biophysical mechanisms of action to studying potential therapeutic applications in non-human primates. We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to join our academic team in these pursuits at Arizona State University. The successful candidate should have successfully completed a Ph.D. and have a strong interdisciplinary background in cellular and systems neuroscience. Further, candidates should have experience in electrophysiology (in vitro whole-cell and in vivo extracellular) and vital optical imaging (confocal and multiphoton).
