Description:

The Language Section of the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) is seeking applications for a post-doctoral fellowship dedicated to functional imaging studies in animals and humans. Our laboratory's research focuses on neuroplasticity of recovery and repair following brain damage. We are currently conducting functional neuroimaging studies of recovery in neurological patients and rodent models following stroke, using MRI, electrophysiological and neurochemical/histological methods. A degree of M.D. or Ph.D. (in a relevant discipline) and previous experience in small animal research are required. A highly self-motivated individual who shows initiative, is creative, and has good computer and statistical skills, is sought. Experience with functional neuroimaging methods is preferred but not required.
