The Department of Leadership, Technology and Human Development in the College of Education invites nominations and applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Instructional Technology.

Position Description. Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Leadership, Technology, and Human Development, the Assistant Professor of Instructional Technology will be responsible for teaching online graduate and undergraduate courses, advising graduate students, conducting and publishing scholarly research, and providing service to Georgia Southern University and the profession. The position is a 9-month appointment, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum requirements for appointment include an earned doctorate in Instructional Technology or a related area by August 1, 2010; knowledge of current hardware/software applications; the ability to teach graduate courses, teach online, offer graduate advisement, conduct scholarly research and publish, and carry out service to the University and profession. Effective communication skills, the ability to work with diverse student populations, and the ability to use and model technology are also required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred experience includes K-12 teaching experience; school library media experience; higher education teaching; and teaching using interactive distance learning systems.
