DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
The E. Philip Saunders College of Business invites applications for three tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate level in Accounting. Responsibilities include teaching graduate and undergraduate accounting courses. Area is open, but preference for one position will be given to candidates qualified to teach accounting information systems and auditing. The other areas are open. Responsibilities include publishing high-quality scholarly accounting research.
The Saunders College values collegial individuals who are excellent communicators, innovative teachers, and active researchers. The College works closely with the business community, which provides research and professional opportunities. The typical teaching schedule is two courses per quarter, six courses per year, and may be a mix of undergraduate or graduate or both.

THE COLLEGE/ DEPARTMENT:
The E. Philip Saunders College of Business is served by 48 full-time faculty members who value collegiality and team work. The Saunders College is accredited by AACSB International and offers bachelors’ degrees in business administration with seven different majors. Graduate programs include an MBA, an Executive MBA, and Masters of Science programs in Management and Finance. Saunders is ranked in the top 100 by US News and World Report. The Program for Innovation and Entrepreneurship was ranked as one of the most innovative programs in the world by Business Week. The Albert J. Simone Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship enhances entrepreneurship activities, including the RIT Venture Creations Incubator.
RIT attracts students from all 50 states and more than 90 countries, with more than 16,000 enrolled students. RIT has been recognized on The Chronicle of Higher Education's inaugural “Great Colleges to Work For” list. RIT was cited in six different categories: Professional/Career Development Program, Compensation and Benefits, Tuition Reimbursement, 403b or 401k (retirement plan), Disability Insurance and Life Insurance.

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
Qualified candidates should hold a Ph.D. or D.B.A in Accounting.
For rank of Assistant Professor, candidates may be ABD with expected completion by December 2010. Candidates must have strong research skills and potential for scholarly research as demonstrated by presentations in academic conferences or publications in peer-reviewed journals. Candidates should also have a demonstrated ability to teach effectively.
For rank of Associate Professor, candidates must have a strong record of scholarly research and evidence of teaching excellence and strong service experience.
PREFERRED:
Completed Ph.D. or D.B.A in Accounting from an AACSB-accredited institution.
Professional work experience in accounting.
Relevant certification or licensure such as CPA, CMA, CFE, CIA, CISA, or others of this caliber.
Willingness to interact with business community
Preference will be given to those who can teach accounting information systems and auditing for one position.
