The Department of History in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences invites applications for a non-tenure track position in Medieval European History at the rank of Lecturer. Subfield open.

Position Description. Reporting to the Chair of the Department, the non-tenure track Lecturer in Medieval European History is responsible for teaching the World History II since 1450 survey—a core course required of all Georgia Southern University students—as well as the World History I to 1450 survey for majors; upper-level/graduate courses in Medieval history; and related fields. Subfield open. The position is a 9-month appointment, annually renewable up to six years. The teaching load is 4/4, and continued professional development is expected. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and
experience.

Required Qualifications:
M.A. in history by August 1, 2010
Commitment to excellence in teaching and promise of continued professional
development.

Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in history preferred; ABD in history considered.
Teaching experience in World history survey and/or upper-level courses in Medieval European history.
