The Department of Sociology and Anthropology in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences invites nominations and applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Sociology. This is one of three positions for which we are currently searching.
Position Description. Reporting to the department chair, the assistant professor of sociology will be expected to teach introduction to sociology, undergraduate theory, and graduate theory. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to be an active member of the department and university community by serving on committees, advising students, and engaging in research. The position is a 9-month appointment, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is one of three positions for which we are currently searching.

Required Qualifications:
• PhD in Sociology (or closely related field) by August 1, 2010.
• Expertise to teach sociological theory and at least one of the following specialties: deviance, social psychology, aging, or social change
