The Materials Science Division at Argonne National Laboratory is seeking a candidate for a postdoctoral position within the Synchrotron Radiation Studies group.

We are currently looking for a highly motivated and bright individual for a postdoctoral position in the area of synchrotron x-ray. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing research programs in the areas of in situ nanoscale sciences of mineral/supercritical-CO2 (and supercritical water) interfaces using synchrotron x-rays. The appointee is expected to assemble and operate high-pressure fluid flow systems for synchrotron x-ray techniques available at the Advanced Photon Source (APS) in close collaboration with senior scientists and other experts in the program. Experience with supercritical CO2 or supercritical H2O is required.

The research will involve close interactions with a number of scientists with diverse expertise, and the candidate can expect to be exposed to a broad range of ideas and techniques.

Candidates must have received a Ph.D. in Physics or Engineering within the last three years or expected to receive a Ph.D. within the next six months.
