Job Title: AIDS/HIV Studies: Animal Models, Antiviral Defenses, Immune Interactions, Dr. Vineet KewalRamani
Description:

We are recruiting qualified postdoctoral candidates to engage in one of several different lines of HIV-related research. Our group seeks to translate basic research findings to develop model systems that more faithfully mimic HIV infection in vivo. These model systems are used to investigate questions on viral transmission, viral pathogenesis, and the contribution of the host immune system in these processes. An important part of this effort includes the use of animal models to study HIV antiviral resistance and immunopathogenesis, studies to uncover cellular factors that assist or interfere with the virus lifecycle, and an examination of the mechanism of HIV transmission by dendritic cells. We believe this multidisciplinary approach is not only intellectually stimulating but enhances the rigor and breadth by which we can attack scientific problems.

Highly motivated candidates with a fundamental training in cell biology, genetics, immunology, molecular biology, or virology are encouraged to apply. Candidates should have a Ph.D. and/or an M.D. and have less than 5 years of postdoctoral experience. To apply, candidates should click on the button below or send an e-mail to vineet.kewalramani@nih.gov with a cover letter, CV, and the names and contact information for 3 references.
