Assistant Professor, Finance

STARTING DATE: September 2010

DESCRIPTION: The E. Philip Saunders College of Business invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant level in Finance. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. from an AACSB-accredited institution. Responsibilities include teaching graduate and undergraduate finance courses and publishing high-quality scholarly finance research. A willingness to interact with the business community is highly desirable. The Saunders College values collegial individuals who are excellent communicators, innovative teachers, and active researchers. The College works closely with the business community, which provides research and professional opportunities. The typical teaching schedule is two courses per quarter, six courses per year, and may be a mix of undergraduate or graduate or both. We are seeking individuals who are committed to contributing to RIT’s core values, honor code, and statement of diversity.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
REQUIRED: Qualified candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Finance. Candidates who are ABD with expected completion by December 2010 may be considered. Candidates must have strong research skills and potential for scholarly research as demonstrated by presentations in academic conferences or publications in peer-reviewed journals. Candidates should also have a demonstrated ability to teach effectively. PREFERRED: Some preferred characteristics are: Proven ability to publish in high quality journals. Proven ability to collaborate with others in empirical research projects.  Ability to teach a variety of finance electives. A research profile in Financial Innovation is preferable.
