Three Postdoctoral positions are available immediately at the Engineering Systems and Management Program at the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Projects include the optimal design of sustainable living environments, study of regional adaptations to climate change, carbon management and ecological footprint analysis, diffusion patterns of renewable energy technology, and sustainable development finance (including microfinance), etc.

The positions require a minimum of 1 year commitment to research projects and a Ph.D. with a strong background in any of the following three fields:

1. Economics: econometrics and general equilibrium modeling.

2. Finance: econometrics, corporate finance or microfinance.

3. Management Science or Engineering: system dynamics (or engineering simulation), statistics, and operations research. Programming (JAVA, etc.) skill is essential.

Candidates with experience in energy and environmental researches are preferred. Salary is comparable to leading U.S. universities.

Interviews will be focused on research methodologies with special emphasis on how various methodologies can be applied to tackle the research subjects stated above.
