BioSystems & Micromechanics (BioSyM) Interdisciplinary Research Group (IRG)

The recently-approved BioSystems and Micromechanics (BioSyM) Interdisciplinary Research Group (IRG) of the MIT SMART center (http://web.mit.edu/SMART/) is currently seeking a postdoctoral researchers in the area of image informatics. The successful candidate should hold a Ph.D. degree in a related field from a reputable university. He will become a part of the interdisciplinary team of SMART researchers and will carry out cutting-edge research to study liver fibrosis by using high throughput, high content Image cytometry. The goal of this project is to understand the molecular factors that induce the activation of hepatic stellate cells in three-dimensional tissue constructs and in animal models. The researcher will develop techniques to infer biological underpinning of liver fibrosis through analysis of images gathered in 3-D tissue constructs and animal models.
This position will primarily be based in Singapore, with the possibility of traveling to MIT as part of the international collaboration. Applicants must have excellent technical, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work with other members of the team.

Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) Centre is a major new research enterprise in Singapore established by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the National Research Foundation (NRF) of Singapore.
