Job Title: Pharmacogenomist/Epidemiologist
Description:

Main Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with CPMC geneticists, biostatistician, and genetic counselors to develop novel ways of reporting disease risk due to genetic and lifestyle factors and family history.
  • Interface with CPMC geneticists and biostatistician to develop a pharmacogenomics reporting system for communicating information on known genetic variants involved in the variation in response to specific drugs.
  • Assist in the critical review of current genetic, clinical, epidemiologic and pharmacogenomic literature in order to identify appropriate sources for disease prevalence, disease risk and pharmacogenomic outcomes.
  • Work with CPMC biostatistician to assess existing methods for risk estimation and published multigenic models, and devise alternate and innovative approaches.
  • Initiate and/or provide input to grant proposals and scientific papers.
Required Education / Experience:
  • PhD in epidemiology or biostatistics with knowledge of pharmacogenomics
  • Coursework, experience or post-doctoral training in pharmacogenomics
  • Solid understanding of epidemiology methods (particularly study design and evaluation, measures of disease frequency, and measures of disease association)
