This is a nine-month, tenure track position beginning August 15, 2010. Summer funding possible. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will work as a member of a faculty team and be student-oriented in their teaching, service, and scholarship. Active in developing research and scholarship is a must. Interest in being a member of a research team, both within the unit as well as across disciplines is desirable. The successful candidate will demonstrate the potential to develop a strong service and scholarship reputation in the field. This position is contingent upon available funding. Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies or related field required. Academic preparation and experience related to teaching responsibilities with Leisure Studies desirable. Successful candidate must be eligible to meet requirements for appointment as a member of the Graduate Faculty. Involvement in appropriate professional service organizations and ability to demonstrate independent and collaborative scholarship/research/grant writing desirable. Responsibilities: Oklahoma State University is an NRPA COA-Accredited Leisure Studies Program with accredited options in Leisure Service Management and Therapeutic Recreation. Teaching responsibilities will be within the Leisure Service Management option. Duties include teaching of theory classes at the undergraduate, master’s and doctoral levels and supervision of field experiences. The successful candidate is expected to mentor/advise Master of Science and Doctor or Philosophy students.
